There are many categories of bulk handling. Few of them are described below:
1. Bucket elevator- it is also called a grain leg and is application of bulk material handling. It is a method of transportation of bulk materials vertically mainly fertilizer or grain. A bucket elevator can lift up a sort of bulk materials ranging from light weight to heavy and from small to huge lumps. A centrifugal discharge elevator can be inclined or vertical. Vertical elevators must be run at fairly high speed and depend totally on the action of centrifugal force for obtaining the material into the discharge tube. Whereas inclined elevators do not depend totally on the action of centrifugal force to get the material into the tube so, the speed may be comparatively low.

2. Belt conveyor- it comprises of two or more than two pulleys, with an uninterrupted loop of material that is, the conveyor belt, which rotates about them. Both are the powered pulleys that move the material on the belt and belt forward. The unpowered pulley is known as idler and the powered pulley is known as the drive pulley. Two main industrial categories of belt conveyor are: one is common material handling and other is bulk material handling used to carry agricultural and industrial materials.
3. Stacker- it is a large machine used to stack bulk material.
