The Reading Festivals is an annual music festival that takes place in Reading in the United Kingdom and is handled by Festival Republic. The festival was known as the Carling Weekend due to the presence of its sponsor since 1998. The Reading Festival originated from the National Jazz festival and first took place in the year 1961.
In the late 90’s Grunge music started to show its presence and made the festival more popular. The Reading festival takes place at Little John’s Farm in Central Reading. A similar music festival also takes place in Leeds which is also managed by Festival Republic every year. The events happen concurrently on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the month of August.
